    St Peter’s Pupil Parliament

    What is Pupil Parliament?

The Pupil Parliament is a group of pupils who work together to improve school life for everyone. Members will share ideas, gather pupil voice, and help lead projects focused on learning and classrooms, health and wellbeing, respect and friendships, diversity and inclusion, and caring for our environment and future.

The Parliament is made up of five ministries: Education, Health, Respect, Inclusion and Sustainability. Each ministry has a team of MPs and is led by a Minister. The Parliament is overseen by a Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, who help lead meetings and communicate updates. Staff will support the Parliament through roles such as Speaker, Chief Whip, Spin Doctor and Chancellor, helping pupils turn ideas into action.

    Why a Pupil Parliament?

At St Peter's, we believe every child's voice matters. Our Pupil Parliament gives children the chance to take on leadership roles, make real decisions, and have a genuine, positive impact on our school community.

    How can children get involved?

We launched our Pupil Parliament for the 2025–2026 school year through our Democracy Day on Monday 12th January 2026. Pupils from Years 3 to 6 prepared and delivered speeches before being voted for by their classes to represent each ministry.

Our Election Day will take place on Thursday 29th January, when parents and pupils will be invited to take part in a ballot to elect our Members of Parliament.
