Our house system brings the whole St Peter’s community together. Every child and member of staff belongs to one of our four houses, and siblings are always placed in the same house, helping to build a strong sense of belonging across the school.
Our four houses are named after inspirational young people who have made a difference in the world:

Wong – Joshua Wong became involved in activism as a young person, speaking up about issues that mattered to him and encouraging other young people to have a voice.
At the heart of our house system are our GEMS: Growth, Effort, Manners and Sportsmanship.
Children can earn GEMS by demonstrating these values in their everyday school life. Whether it is persevering with something challenging, showing kindness and respect, putting in their best effort or displaying excellent sportsmanship, every child has the opportunity to contribute to their house.
At the end of each term, we celebrate the house that has collected the most GEMS with a non-school uniform day. This gives everyone a reason to get involved and reminds us that the small things we do every day can make a difference to our wider school community.

Our House Captains play an important role in bringing our houses together. We have one House Captain from each house in Year 5 and Year 6, giving us eight fantastic young leaders across the school.
Our House Captains help to encourage their teams, celebrate achievements and support with House Games and other house events. They are excellent role models for younger pupils and have the opportunity to develop their leadership skills while helping to build a strong sense of community across the school.
Find out more about our House Captains and other pupil leaders on our Pupil Leadership page.
Our House Games are a highlight at St Peter's! Every term, the whole school comes together to compete in a range of fun and sometimes rather unusual challenges! Every child also receives a cap in their house colour to wear during House Games, making it easy to see the four houses come together and adding to the excitement and sense of team spirit.
We've enjoyed Mario Kart racing, doughnut eating, orienteering and cup stacking, as well as seasonal challenges with a Christmas theme.
The competition can get very serious, with children cheering on their houses and encouraging one another throughout. At the end, even the teachers get involved – and that's when things can become particularly competitive!

Our house teams also compete together at Sports Day, working as a team to earn points across a range of field events. At the end of the day, one house is crowned the winner and is presented with the Sports Day trophy.
While there is always plenty of excitement and healthy competition, our house system is ultimately about belonging, teamwork and community. It gives children opportunities to work and compete alongside pupils from different year groups, build relationships across the school and take pride in being part of something bigger than their own class.

Frank were last year's winners!
