House Captains

Our House Captains play a vital role in school life, helping to promote leadership, teamwork and pride across the school. Each house is represented by two captains, one from Year 5 and one from Year 6, who work together to support pupils and lead house activities throughout the year.

Our four houses are named after inspirational individuals from around the world: Malala (Malala Yousafzai), Frank (Anne Frank), Wong (Joshua Wong) and Doe (Kelvin Doe). Through the house system, pupils learn about these role models and reflect on the importance of standing up for others, showing courage and making a positive difference.

The role of House Captain strongly supports the teaching of British Values, particularly mutual respect, individual liberty and the rule of law. House Captains help ensure fairness by counting and recording house gems each week, taking responsibility for accuracy and transparency. By leading house games and supporting events, they encourage positive participation and respectful behaviour.

House Captains work closely with staff to plan and organise house games and Sports Day, developing leadership, teamwork and organisational skills. They also play an important role in promoting house spirit, encouraging pupils to support one another and take pride in being part of a wider community.

Through their role, House Captains live out our school values by showing respect to others, strengthening our sense of community, developing wisdom through responsibility and reflection, and demonstrating aspiration by leading by example and striving to do their best for their house and school.
