The Computing Graduate Award Scheme is your opportunity to deepen your knowledge and explore computing beyond the classroom.
In order to become a computing graduate, you will need to
Design and build your own online game using Scratch. Most children in Years 3-6 will have their own Scratch login details so ask your teacher if you don’t know yours!
Your game should:
When you make your game, use the coding skills you’ve learned in class:
Your game could include:
Test your game on your friends and family to make sure it runs smoothly and make sure you have fixed any bugs.
Choose one of the questions below and create a presentation to explore it in depth.
You can present your answer in any way you like, but you must support your ideas with reasons and evidence.
Your presentation should:
Explain both sides of the argument, showing that you’ve considered different viewpoints.
End by sharing your own opinion, based on the evidence you have found.
You could present your work as:
A written piece (for example, a gateway-style question or short essay — handwritten or typed)
A digital presentation (Keynote, PowerPoint, or Google Slides)
A video of you explaining your ideas clearly and confidently
Our computing quiz is based on our computing curriculum across the school and includes questions based on all areas of computing: coding, digital creation, video editing and Office programmes.
In order to revise, you will need to explore our computing knowledge organisers. For each one, look at the key learning and the key vocabulary. You can find our knowledge organisers below.
For extra revision, you can also take a look at the BBC Bitesize information about computing, which you can find here.
When you are ready to take the quiz, ask your class teacher.
