Richard Day
Chair of the ASEC
My name is Richard Day and I joined St Peter's as a Foundation Governor in November 2021. I have spent my whole professional life as an Officer in the Royal Corps of Signals,
the communications and IT arm of the British Army. I joined, aged 21, after completing an engineering degree and have since gained Master's degrees in Information Capability Management and Defence Studies. My military specialism is in the development and acquisition of new equipment and capability.
I have been married to Sarah, a headteacher, for over ten years and we have two children, both of whom are at St Peter’s. I am passionate about history and love how St Peter's values the past and the lessons it can give us for the future. I also believe in the value of STEM, and the careers it offers; I think St Peter’ does an excellent job at setting its pupils up for success in this area. Finally, I really want to contribute to my local community. I feel that being a Foundation Governor will allow me to contribute in these, and other areas. I look forward to the challenges and opportunities ahead.
Christina Brown
Vice chair and Trust governor

My name is Christina Brown and I joined St Peter's as a Parent Governor in September 2022 and have since been appointed as a Trust Governor. I began my professional life working in banking and finance, employed as a Financial Adviser until 2013. At this stage I retrained as a school history teacher and now work as an Assistant Headteacher in a Hampshire secondary school. I have recently completed an MBA in Educational Leadership and Management, which has strengthened my knowledge and understanding of school leadership.
I am married to Jamie, who has recently commissioned as an Officer in the Royal Engineers. We have two sons who both loved their time at St Peter’s and have now moved on to secondary education at Bishop Wordsworth School in Salisbury.
I am passionate about education and ensuring that our young people have access to the best opportunities to enable their future success. As an enthusiastic historian, I am keen to ensure that non-core curriculum subjects are nurtured, allowing pupils to enjoy a broad and balanced curriculum throughout their primary school journey. St Peter’s does an excellent job of supporting all pupils to thrive, emphasising both personal and academic development. I feel privileged to be part of the governing body, working with the school and the local community to help set our young people up to flourish in the future.

Christopher Gidley
Parent Governor
Hi, I'm Chris – proud father to Maximus and Lucius here at the school. Six years ago, my wife and I were inspired by the vision Mr Martindale shared during an open evening and the school’s core values of 'Critical Thinking', 'Respect for Self & Others', and 'Investing in Our Community'; the addition of Aspiration has only enhanced the core values to give our children every advantage.
I am putting my name forward as a parent governor because I believe that reinforcing these values in our long-term strategy has greatly enhanced our children’s learning experience, and I am motivated to invest back into the school. Drawing on my career experience in strategic planning and decision-making, I am eager to work with Mr Martindale, Mrs Morris, and all parents to ensure St Peter’s remains the nurturing, dynamic place our children deserve. Thank you for considering me, I look forward to the opportunity to serve our wonderful community.
