Anyone in England can register with a GP surgery. It's free to register.
You do not need proof of address or immigration status, ID or an NHS number.
GP surgeries are usually the first contact if you have a health problem. They can treat many conditions and give health advice. They can also refer you to other NHS services. Find a GP that suits what you need. Some GP surgeries offer more services than others. You can look up GP surgeries to see what they offer and how they compare. Click here to find your closest.
Registering with a Dentist
There is no need to register with a dentist in the same way as with a GP because you are not bound to a catchment area. Simply find a dental surgery that's convenient for you, whether it's near your home or work, and phone them to see if there are any appointments available.
You can search for an NHS dentist near you on this site.
How can I join the library?
You can find all of the information you need on the Join the library page. It is free to join and you will also be given a PIN so that you can access a range of online resources.
Can I join the library online?
You can register for membership online; just click on the ‘Join the library’ tab at the top of the page. You will then be sent an email with your membership details. A physical library card should be collected from your local library when you are next able to visit. Please bring proof of your name and address.
Can children join the library?
Children and young people under 16 are very welcome to join the library. There is no lower age limit for children joining the library. They need to visit the library with a parent (or legal guardian) who will need to bring a form of ID (e.g. an allowance book, bank statement or driving licence) which contains their name and current address. If this is not possible, library staff will post a membership form to the parent (or guardian) to sign.
